Network toolbox and library

End of support

This project was mainly developped between January 2000 and September 2004. Since September 2004, the development work slowed down.

This project is not actively maintained.

Structure

Project is composed of 3 parts :

netwib
netwox
netwag

They are assembled like this :

Netwib

This is a network library. It is oriented towards developers.
It depends on :
- libpcap and libnet under Unix
- WinPCAP under Windows
If libpcap/libnet/WinPCAP are not installed, sniffing and spoofing features are not available.

Netwox

This is a network toolbox containing 222 tools. It is oriented towards administrators.
It depends on netwib.
You can obtain more information about netwox.

Netwag

This is a graphical user interface for netwox.
It depends on netwox and Tcl/Tk.
You can obtain more information about netwag.

Installation

Installation order is :

libpcap/WinPCAP
libnet (under Unix only)
Tcl/Tk
netwib, netwox and netwag

Download

Prerequise for Unix :

libpcap (http://www.tcpdump.org/ or a package from your system)
libnet (http://www.packetfactory.net/libnet/, ftp://ftp.mirrors.wiretapped.net/pub/security/packet-construction/libnet/ or a package from your system)
Tcl/Tk >= 8.0 (http://www.tcl.tk/software/tcltk/ or a package from your system)

Prerequise for Windows :

WinPCAP >= 3.0 (http://www.winpcap.org/)
Tcl/Tk >= 8.0 (ftp://ftp.activestate.com/ActiveTcl/Windows/, http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActiveTcl/)
